Why Does My Drain Keep Blocking?

When a drain blocks again, the timing and earlier findings matter. We can help move the discussion from another clearing job to understanding whether a persistent obstruction or pipe fault needs further investigation.

Keep the sequence of events

Write down when each blockage happened, what was done and how long normal flow lasted. Include anything the previous team found, such as roots or damage. Our blocked drains guide gives you a starting point for describing what is affected now.

A recurring problem does not identify one particular cause. A useful record separates observations from guesses and lets the investigation follow the evidence available on your property.

Make a simple blockage log

EvidenceExisting reports, photos and identified locations

Ask what clearing established

Find out whether the earlier work only restored flow or also identified a reason for the blockage. Ask whether a particular section was inspected and whether any further work was recommended.

If roots were found, our roots in drains guide separates clearing from the question of pipe condition. If the issue appears during rain, explain that pattern rather than assuming it is an ordinary household blockage.

Plan the next investigation

We use water blasting and vacuum equipment for clearing, with CCTV and robotic camera investigations where needed. GPS location can help relate findings inside the drain to the property above it.

Ask which information is missing before deciding on a repair. The camera inspection cost guide helps you compare the scope of investigation, including access, preparation and how findings will be explained.

Choose a response to the findings

A repair should respond to the fault that has been identified. Discuss the affected section, the available methods and any surface reinstatement in one scope. Keep the investigation record for future reference.

If wastewater is overflowing now, avoid using the affected fixtures, keep people and pets clear and call us to describe the immediate situation. Planned investigation can then be considered alongside clearing the current blockage.
